Kamelah (Mimi) is a NE Portland Native, raised in the historic Albina district, rich with the people & voices of her heritage. She graduated from Grant High school in 1998, starting her college career at Portland Community College and later transferring to Portland State University.
Kamelah is a mother of two children. She is very active in her school community. She volunteers her time to better the educational outcomes of all students and coordinate community engagement events.
Her passion for social justice and artistic design led Kamelah to create Mimi’s Fresh Tees, LLC. People want to make sure others know who they are, and where they stand, without uttering a word. She is excited to create and design messages for others to wear.
